Description

330103-00-03-05-02-05: This 3300 XL 8 mm proximity probe features an M10 x 1 metric thread with 0 mm of unthreaded length (Option 00) and a 30 mm overall case length (Option 03). The probe is supplied with a 0.5 meter (1.6 feet) total length FEP-insulated coaxial cable (Option 05) terminated in a miniature ClickLoc connector without a connector protector (Option 02). This configuration is certified with CSA, ATEX, and IECEx hazardous area approvals (Option 05).

This metric variant is used in industrial machinery monitoring setups where mounting depth is constrained and a metric thread pattern is required. Unlike alternative configurations in the 3300 XL 8 mm family, this version does not include integrated stainless steel armor, making it suited for conduit installations or environments where physical abrasion is not a hazard. It functions within a complete transducer system when paired with a matching 3300 XL extension cable and a 3300 XL Proximitor sensor.

Features

  • Metric thread case: M10 x 1 threaded body, manufactured from AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel.
  • Short case design: 30 mm overall case length with 0 mm unthreaded length.
  • Triaxial cable: 0.5 meter FEP-insulated coaxial lead.
  • Connector: Gold-plated miniature male coaxial ClickLoc connector.
  • Armor configuration: Unarmored (without armor).
  • Safety approvals: CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certifications for hazardous area locations.

Applications

Typical applications include machinery vibration monitoring, axial position measurement, and shaft displacement sensing on rotating equipment such as steam turbines, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, gearboxes, and large industrial pumps.

Connections and Interfaces

The probe lead is terminated with a gold-plated miniature male coaxial ClickLoc connector. This connector secures directly to a 3300 XL standard extension cable to complete the connection to the 3300 XL Proximitor sensor.

Installation Guidelines

  • Maintain a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) along the coaxial cable run.
  • Ensure the case thread engagement does not exceed 15 mm for the M10 x 1 thread to avoid structural binding.
  • Tighten the probe case using a torque wrench set to the recommended 7.5 Nm (66 in-lbf). Do not exceed the maximum rating of 22.6 Nm (200 in-lbf).
  • If the connection is exposed to turbine oils, do not use standard silicone tape; use a dedicated connector protector or junction box.

Compliance and Certifications

  • EMC: European Community Directive 2014/30/EU, EN 61000-6-2 (Immunity) and EN 61000-6-4 (Emissions) for Industrial Environments.
  • RoHS: European Community Directive 2011/65/EU and China RoHS EFUP designation of 15 years.
  • Functional Safety: SIL 2 certified (HFT = 0), SIL 3 certified (HFT = 1).
  • Hazardous Area Approvals (Option 05): CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certifications for Class I, Zone 0, Zone 2, and Division 2 environments (Ex ia IIC T5...T1 Ga, Ex nA IIC T5...T1 Gc, Ex ec IIC T5...T1 Gc).
