Description

Direct motor connection and high-performance compact drive control are integrated into the EL7041-0052 stepper motor terminal. Designed for the EtherCAT I/O system, this motion interface enables the direct operation of 2-phase stepper motors up to 48 V DC at a maximum output current of 5 A. The unit features 64-fold microstepping capabilities to ensure smooth, precise rotational operation with minimized resonance and quiet running performance.

Equipped with two digital inputs for limit switch integration, this terminal facilitates decentralized positioning tasks by supporting integrated travel distance control directly through the Beckhoff TwinCAT environment. This module utilizes Distributed Clocks (DC) to synchronize motion commands precisely across multi-axis setups, making it suitable for distributed automation systems requiring exact path control and compact form factors.

Installation Guidelines

• Mounting: Mount on a standard 35 mm DIN rail conforming to EN 60715 using the integrated double slot and key lock connection.
• Grounding and Shielding: Ensure the DIN rail is securely connected to a low-impedance functional ground. Motor cables must be properly shielded to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI) and maintain compliance with EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4.
• Thermal Management: Maintain the correct side-by-side mounting orientation to allow passive cooling. Verify that the ambient operating temperature does not exceed +55 degC.
