Description

Direct field-level control of high-current actuators is executed efficiently using the Beckhoff ER2028-1032 EtherCAT Box. Housed in a highly durable, zinc die-cast enclosure, this distributed I/O module features 8 digital outputs designed to switch electrical loads directly in demanding industrial environments. By mounting directly onto machines or process equipment, the module eliminates the need for protective control cabinets, reducing wiring overhead and simplifying system topology.

The ER2028-1032 provides up to 2.8 A of output current per channel, making it ideal for driving heavier loads such as solenoid valves, contactors, auxiliary relays, small motors, and signaling devices. Installation Guidelines

  • Grounding: Ensure the metallic housing has a low-impedance connection to the machine ground/PE to maintain EMC immunity.
  • Connector Torque: Tighten all M12 and 7/8" connectors to the manufacturer-specified torque to guarantee IP67 protection against moisture and dust ingress. Put protective caps on any unused ports.
