Description

The 330980-50-00 is a non-contacting proximity sensor designed for use within the 3300 XL NSv Proximity Transducer System. This sensor is engineered for machines with tight installation requirements, such as centrifugal air compressors, refrigeration compressors, and process gas compressors, where counter bore, sideview, or rearview restrictions limit the use of standard transducer systems. The 330980-50-00 functions by outputting an Average Scale Factor of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil), which is ideal for small target applications such as measuring radial vibration on shafts smaller than 51 mm or axial position on flat targets smaller than 15 mm.

This Proximitor Sensor features a thin design optimized for traditional panel mount configurations. It provides advanced RFI/EMI immunity that prevents nearby high-frequency radio signals from adversely affecting the transducer system, enabling it to achieve European CE mark approvals without specialized mounting considerations. Additionally, the device is equipped with SpringLoc terminal strips that require no special installation tools, facilitating robust and fast field wiring connections.

Installation Guidelines

  • Panel Mounting: Secure the device into the designated housing or junction box plate using the integrated panel-mount base orientation.
  • Field Wiring: Connect field wiring using 0.2 to 1.5 mm2 (16 to 24 AWG) conductors, or 0.25 to 0.75 mm2 (18 to 23 AWG) if using ferrules. A three-conductor shielded triad cable is recommended.
  • Maximum Cable Length: Ensure the total distance between the Proximitor Sensor and the associated monitor does not exceed 305 meters (1000 feet).
  • ESD Prevention: While terminal and connector tracks include internal protection circuits, use an ESD wrist strap and standard grounding practices during handling and field terminal wire connections to avoid electrostatic discharge damage.
